Area forums return to Hounslow

Hounslow Council’s Area Forums return in March and April with five scheduled across the borough, giving residents the chance to meet local councillors and have their say.

The confirmed dates are as follows:

  • Chiswick: 14 March, 6:30pm - 9:30pm, Chiswick Town Hall
  • Heston & Cranford: 16 March, 6pm - 9pm, Heston Community Centre
  • Bedfont, Feltham & Hanworth: 23 March, 5pm - 9:30pm, Feltham Assembly Hall
  • Central Hounslow: 20 April, Timings TBC, Hounslow House
  • Isleworth & Brentford: 27 April, 6.30pm - 9.30pm, West Thames College.

The line-up in Chiswick includes a presentation by the Council’s Fostering team, updates from Housing and Estates plus a chance to meet local community groups including Move Into Wellbeing and Chiswick Pier Trust, amongst others. 

Heston & Cranford includes a special dance performance from the Tamil Community Centre, local groups such as C-Change West LondonLet’s Go Outside and Learn and Heston Action Group plus Council teams including Community Solutions, Community Safety and Hounslow Highways.

Feltham, Bedfont & Hanworth includes a performance from the local community choir, and the chance to chat with voluntary groups including Age UK and Feltham Convening Partnership. Local councillors, police officers and key Council teams including Fostering, Highways and Parks will also be available to speak with.  In addition, there will be updates on local issues. The event includes a break from 6 - 7pm for Iftar (Ramadan fast-breaking). Prayer space/mats will be available.

Hounslow Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Equalities, Councillor Shivraj Grewal, said: “It has been standing room only at our new style area forums over the last year. The revised format seems to have really captured the imagination of our residents and reflects a radical overhaul of the way we engage with our community.  I urge anyone who has yet to experience one to get involved and have their say.”
