Hounslow Connexions, the careers information, advice and guidance service for young people, kicks off 2023 with a free online event aimed at helping young people aged 16-25 who are not in employment, education or training.
The annual ‘New Year New Start’ event will be hosted virtually across two sessions on the 25 and 26 January from 5.30-7pm. The two online events will offer a series of great insights into local job and training opportunities from local employers and organisations.
The online event will allow young people to attend live, online sessions with employers, training providers and career advisers through Hounslow Connexions and Work Hounslow. Partners involved in the sessions include Burleigh College, West Thames College, the Heathrow Academy, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, the Catch 22 TikTok Academy and more.
Councillor Lily Bath, Cabinet Member for Children, Learning and Employment at Hounslow Council, said:
“Amid the challenging economic environment, the good news is that there are many great opportunities open to local young people across the borough. We have lined up a number of presenters who will explain the fantastic variety of training and skills schemes open to those aged 16-25.
“This event is an easy and exciting way to find out more about how to start a great new training placement, training course or apprenticeship that could offer life-changing benefits.”
