
A recent survey by the Mayor of London outlined how adult learners in Hounslow significantly outperformed the London average.
The survey results outline Hounslow’s exceptional adult education achievements. Learn Hounslow, which is the Council’s Adult Education programme, supports over 2,000 learners annually. The programme offers a wealth of training opportunities for residents in Hounslow – ranging from English language classes, digital skills and even ceramic classes.
The survey revealed that
- 50% of Hounslow learners progressed in their current work compared to the London average 38%
- 24% reported increased income compared to the London average 18%
- 75% moved on to further study compared to the London average 65%
- 98% experienced a positive social outcome
- 46% saw a positive economic outcome
Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills and Employment at Hounslow Council, said
“These outstanding results show that Learn Hounslow is not just delivering courses, it’s delivering brighter futures. Whether they are gaining confidence or moving up in their careers, our learners and teachers are proof of how powerful adult education can be.
