Lawn sections are available at Borough cemetery, Chiswick New Cemetery, Hatton cemetery, New Brentford cemetery

A lawn grave is a grave space where most of the surface area consists of mown grass. These graves are offered for those who want to place a memorial headstone only on a grave space.  The remaining surface of the grave is maintained level and free from any obstructions or markings. The planting of memorial flowers is permitted immediately in front of a lawn headstone our to a depth of 2’0’’ x 2’0’’ wide. No kerbs or fences are permitted on the grave. No trees or shrubs may be planted on the grave. Maintenance of the memorial and planting is the responsibility of the grave owner and cemetery staff will maintain the lawn area.

Lawn graves can accommodate up to four full coffin burials. If no further full burials are required, the grave owner may request the burial of up to eight sets of cremated remains in the grave space.

The ground normally settles within 6 months of the burial, then the grave is levelled by the cemetery staff and grassed over.

The grass will be cut as part of the ongoing grounds maintenance programme. Any items such as vases, flowers or plants may be damaged by cutting equipment.
