Supporting Safer Gambling
Encouraging customers to reflect on their gambling habits is crucial in helping them determine the level of support they may need. Identifying symptoms of gambling harm early on is essential. To promote safer gambling practices, staff should be trained to engage appropriately with customers, provide necessary support information, and know when to refuse service when necessary.
Expectations for licensed premises
- Customer Interaction: Licensed premises should regularly engage with customers to promote responsible gambling.
- Self-Exclusion Records: Premises must keep self-exclusion records available for inspection and participate in Multi-Operator Self-Exclusion Schemes (MOSES). Regular reviews of these records are essential.

To help operators provide appropriate support, we have compiled a list of organisations offering a range of services for those affected by gambling, including individuals vulnerable due to age, addiction, financial issues, or those concerned about others.
