You must tell us about any changes in your circumstances after you have applied for the housing register.

There is different guidance if you want to report a change in circumstances as an existing council tenant.

If you don't keep us updated, it might result in us:

  • failing to contact you to offer council housing
  • withdrawing an offer of housing because it was based on wrong information

Either way, this could result in disappointment. If you don't keep us up to date it could even mean you being removed from the housing register altogether.

You need to tell us about:

  • a change of address
  • a change of phone number
  • new people added to your application (for example, if you have had a baby)
  • people removed from your application (for example, you have experienced a relationship breakdown or you have children who no longer live with you)
  • changed to employment, income, assets or savings
