Community safety and crime - JSNA

Two police officers

Community safety represents “a local response to local problems/issues”.

The Crime and Disorder Act (1998) places a legal responsibility on the Council, Fire Brigade, Police, Health Services, Probation and other partners to work together to reduce crime, disorder, substance misuse and reoffending in Hounslow. Crime, and the fear of crime, can be key factors on how residents feel within their community, as well as affecting their own health and wellbeing. This is accomplished through the work of the Community Safety Partnership (CSP).
