European Parliamentary elections
European Parliamentary elections will take place in this country on Thursday 23 May, subject to the UK still being a member of the European Union on Wednesday 22 May.
Important information for EU electors
If the UK does participate in the European Parliamentary elections and you are a EU citizen living in the UK, you may wish to consider the following voting options:
- vote for candidates standing in your home country. For further information, please visit www.europarl.europa.eu/unitedkingdom/en/your-meps/european_elections.html
- vote for candidates standing in the UK - London Region
If you want to vote in the UK at this election, you will need to complete a European Parliamentary Voter Registration Form.

If the form is not received by Tuesday 7 May, you will not be able to take part in the European Parliamentary elections in the UK – London Region.
UK Parliamentary General Elections
In accordance with the Fixed Term Parliamentary Act 2011, UK Parliamentary General Elections are held every five years.
As the last General Election took place in 2017, the next scheduled General Election is due to be held on 5 May 2022. However, a General Election can be called at short notice at any point during a term of a goverment.
