Our vision is to lead the way in providing good quality, affordable homes for people on a range of incomes, as well as opening the door to build vibrant, thriving communities. We believe the two go hand in hand. We also want to ensure there’s room for growth in the borough for new and existing families.

That’s why, as part of our corporate strategy, we have pledged to:

  • Deliver 1,000 high quality homes at council rent for local people.

How we deliver our pledge

To fulfil our pledge, we are exploring opportunities across the borough suitable for redevelopment, and will keep Hounslow residents at the forefront when making these decisions. To deliver the new homes is a big task and we realise we will not be able to meet this pledge on our own. We’re working hard with our partners to make this a reality.

Funding for the proposed new homes will come from a variety of sources, including the Council's HRA new build fund, Central Government and Greater London Authority (GLA) grants, housing association partnerships schemes, S106 and Right to buy receipts.

As part of the requirement for GLA grant funding, the Council is required to have an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan. See more details of the action plan
