Social and Wellbeing Taskforce

The Social and Wellbeing Taskforce brings together key leaders from health and social care from across the borough. It’s working to establish the social and wellbeing impact of the virus and lockdown on Hounslow’s residents, and developing a range of collaborative measures to support people and improve services.

Chaired by Cllr Tom Bruce, Cabinet Member for Education, Children and Youth Services, the board held its first meeting on June 23 2020.

Cllr Bruce said: “The pandemic has seen local services respond as one whole joined-up system. We have worked together at pace in ways we wouldn’t have thought possible. Many issues have become more visible following the pandemic including social isolation, mental and physical health, financial challenges and racial inequality. Our ambition is to build on what we have already achieved, learn from our experiences and work together to make change happen.”
