Summer of Culture in Hounslow returned for the fourth year in a row.
The borough immersed itself in a vibrant celebration of arts, culture and community at 2025’s Summer of Culture, which ran from June to September. We were thrilled to share a diverse and exciting line-up of events which captivated audiences of all ages.
As well as the ever popular enchanting outdoor performances and film screenings in parks, 2025 saw the celebration of the Golden Mile’s 100th anniversary and the addition of the UK/Poland Season with multi-artform events throughout the borough.
There was something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you were a seasoned culture enthusiast or simply looking for a way to soak up the summer atmosphere, Summer of Culture offered experiences that inspired, entertained and connected.
A snapshot of what our community enjoyed during the Summer of Culture 2025:
Outdoor Events
Our streets and parks came alive this summer with live performances by national and international artists. Including music concerts, theatre performances and art installations, everyone was invited to enjoy open air entertainment.
Golden Mile 100th Anniversary
We marked 100 years since the opening of the Great West Road – the birth of the Golden Mile and a milestone in London’s industrial story. We celebrated its past, present and future through exhibitions, public art, storytelling and collaboration.
Films on the Green
Visitors grabbed blankets, packed picnics and attended film screenings in Hounslow’s parks over the summer. From timeless classics to contemporary gems, Films on the Green offered a cinematic experience across the borough for all to enjoy.
UK/Poland Season
The UK/Poland Season 2025 was a diverse programme of over 100 multi-artform events in 40 cities in both countries. In London, the activity was hosted in Hounslow, thanks to the international partnership between Watermans, the British Council, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, and the Polish Cultural Institute.
Open House
In September, we invited our community to step inside some of the most intriguing and architecturally significant buildings in the borough through Open House 2025. Visitors were able to explore hidden gems, discover the stories behind the facades and gain a new perspective on our local history and culture.
