If you have been contacted today by the Community Solutions team about your council tax payments, you can find out more about this approach below.
The Council is running a new pilot to try to support residents at the earliest time. They are speaking to those that have fallen behind on their council tax payments, as experience has shown that this may be one of the first signs that someone needs help with their finances or other support.
They will contact you to ask how you could benefit from the many types of support available within the Council and from voluntary partners in the borough. Their helpful advisors can tell you what is available and share information or refer you to organisations that can assist.
If you have questions relating directly to your council tax arrears or need to discuss setting up a payment plan, the officers can tell you how to speak directly to the council tax team.
The Community Solutions team have experience of supporting residents with different needs and can speak to you about a variety of issues, not just financial difficulties. They aim to identify support needs as early as possible, so they can arrange the help for you and your family before a crisis develops.
If you have any questions about this pilot, please ask the officer when they call or you can ring the team on 020 8583 2211.
If you do not wish to be contacted by Community Solutions as part of this offer, please complete the opt-out form.
