New, smaller council offices (pictured above) being built now in central Hounslow will replace the Civic Centre in 2019, reduce costs, and help regenerate the town.
The current Civic Centre site is being redeveloped to provide hundreds of much needed new homes, including many that are “affordable”.
Council Tax in Hounslow did not increase at all from 2006/07 to 2017/18 despite reducing Government funding and increasing demand for council services. In 2018/19 it will increase, but by just by 1.99%.
Improved council online services, including a completely new website designed specifically for easy use on tablets and phones, have meant fewer people need to visit our offices. The number visiting the Civic Offices is now half what it used to be.
Satisfaction with council services has increased, and the number of complaints received has fallen by 60%.
97% of people are satisfied with council reception services.
An improved council telephone system offering better services for callers is launching in October 2017.
Improved IT facilities are enabling council staff to work more flexibly and offer improved services to residents.
Lampton 360, the council’s new trading company, is reducing the cost of providing services such as waste and recycling collections and will generate income for the council to help fund services for local people.
