Residents who would benefit from the annual Garden Waste subscription but missed the opportunity earlier in the year, can take advantage of the half year service.
Published: Wednesday, 2nd October 2019
The half year Garden Waste service will be operating a fortnightly collection, except for two weeks over Christmas and New Year period, until 31 March 2020.
The cost is £30.00 for the half year service, or £15.00 for residents in receipt of Council Tax Reduction (Support). Please note: Council Tax Reduction (Support) is a means-tested council tax discount and refers to residents in receipt of income-based Council Tax Reduction (single person occupancy discount or disability band relief does not apply). Officers will check for eligibility.
The half year collection is only available for payment via debit or credit card. Sign up for half year service will close on 29 November 2019.
When you subscribe, your collection day will be the same day of the week as your refuse collection, but on alternate weeks to your refuse collection. The full year service will operate once again from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021.
It will take approximately 10 days to deliver your garden waste bin or recycling sack. Following delivery of your new Garden Waste bin(s) or sacks, you must wait until your next scheduled collection for the Garden Waste to be collected.

Councillor Guy Lambert, Cabinet Member for Highways, Recycling and Trading Companies said:
“Hounslow council is committed to making recycling as easy as possible, the popular and flexible half year garden waste collections realise this, by ensuring residents who missed the annual sign up can still opt in and take advantage of this service.
“Garden waste collected from across the borough is turned into compost which can then be reused - benefitting the environment. Helping us towards a Cleaner Greener Hounslow, together.”
The Garden Waste collection service will continue to be provided by Recycle 360, wholly owned by Hounslow Council.
