Plogging is a new way to really make a difference to your community. The 90-minute sessions see people of all ages and abilities combine rubbish pick-ups with gentle walking or steady jogging.

There is a 2k route for families and those who want to plog at their own pace, or a more challenging 5k route.

Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Hounslow’s Cabinet Member for Leisure said: “Plogging is a great initiative which sees local people get together and make a difference in the community. Whether you want a leisurely walk or a gentle jog, plogging gives you an excuse to meet other like-minded people while taking care of our open spaces.

“Plogging supports the aims of the council’s Cleaner Greener Hounslow campaign. From recycling more to community clean ups, everyone has a part to play to help make Hounslow litter free.

“Take your first step towards supporting us to make our borough better and give Plogging a go.”

The next session takes place on Hounslow Heath on Sunday 29 September, from 10am-11.30am.  The meeting point is the car park at the main entrance off Staines Road. All equipment is provided at the free sessions. Book your place by visiting www.eventbrite.co.uk.
