The London Borough of Hounslow is pleased to announce that following a robust tender exercise, Certitude has been awarded the contract for the newly named LIFE Enabling Hounslow (Learning Disabilities and Autism Supported Accommodation) services within the borough.
Through this contract, Certitude will be providing supported accommodation and respite to adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. Certitude has worked in the borough for many years and bring an experienced team and the skills to deliver an excellent service from the start of the contract which commenced on 3rd June 2019.
Based on the national programme of transformation of services for people with learning disabilities and/or autism as well as identified gaps in local service provision, LIFE Enabling Hounslow has been developed to offer and provide a greater range of high-quality care and support to people than can currently be accommodated.
Using an integrated care model, Certitude will be working alongside people and their families, empowering them to maintain and increase their skills, emotional and physical wellbeing and independence.
Certitude has been awarded an initial five year contract with an option to extend this for a further three years and will be providing the care and support at the 11 LD supported accommodation schemes in Hounslow.
The LIFE Enabling Hounslow services provide the final component of Hounslow’s LIFE programme alongside the My Independence Service and Non-Accommodation Support Service. Over the past three years, the LIFE programme has reconfigured preventative provision in Hounslow to improve services, contract management, and value for money.
Cllr Candice Atterton, Cabinet Member for Adults, Social Care and Health, Hounslow Council said: “Looking after our disabled and older residents within the borough is a priority for us. According to the latest statistics, 3 per cent of our residents, or just over 8,000 people, are currently claiming disability benefit and unfortunately, that number is increasing. That is why supported accommodation such as the one which Certitude will be providing are so important to the borough.”
