The park which houses a local nature reserve, wetlands, plus over 100 species of plants and birds is the ideal location for a family day out of fun and activities. And let’s not forget all the other animals on view including sheep, ducks, lizards, bunnies, and even some snakes!
The main event will be taking place from 12 noon to 5pm and will feature a range of information stalls manned by emergency services specialists, council stands and community groups, along with sport taster sessions and live entertainment.
Emergency services will be represented by the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, Hounslow Highways, GreenSpace 360 and the London Fire Brigade who will be carrying out a daring water rescue demonstration, as well as a re-enactment of a motor vehicle collision and its subsequent rescue.
Entertainment will include performances from local music groups along with face painting, a food hall, a funfair and much more.
Councillor Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council, said: “This is a great chance for residents of all ages to enjoy a really good community event, plus see behind the scenes with our emergency services and find out information on a variety of council services.
“We are extremely fortunate in the borough to have so many parks and open spaces. Bedfont Lakes has a wonderful history dating back to the 18th century. It’s now one of the jewels in Hounslow’s crown. I encourage all our local residents to come along as there will also be lots to do, some lovely food and all we need now is some nice weather.”
The event has been organised by Hounslow Council and Hounslow’s Blue Light services, along with other health and leisure partners.
