Following the tragic events on Sunday (21 April), Cllr Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council, said:

“I was shocked to hear of the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka, and my thoughts are with the victims, their families and all those involved in the aftermath of the attacks.

“Terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security. We must remain vigilant in opposing terror wherever it appears and promote understanding, compassion, and unity.

“In Hounslow, we are proud of our diverse and multicultural community and stand with those affected by these cowardly actions and extend our deepest sympathy to Sri-Lanka and to our Sri-Lankan community in Hounslow.

“If you have any concerns about suspicious activity, please report it to the police anti-terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321 or in an emergency, call 999.”
