European Parliamentary elections: 23 May 2019

Elections for the European Parliament will take place on Thursday 23 May 2019. The formal Notice of Election has now been published (Monday 15 April).

Elections for the European Parliament will take place on Thursday 23 May 2019. The formal Notice of Election has now been published (Monday 15 April).

Eligible voters in the borough will be able to cast their vote for the who they want to be the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) for the London region.

Registering to vote

You can register to vote in the UK at a European Parliamentary election if you are a citizen of one of the European Union (EU) countries listed below by downloading the European Parliament Voter Registration Form:

  • Denmark
  • Estonia
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Greece
  • Hungary
  • Italy
  • Latvia
  • Lithuania
  • Luxembourg
  • The Netherlands
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Romania
  • Slovakia
  • Slovenia
  • Spain
  • Sweden

If you are a citizen of the UK, Republic of Ireland, Malta or Cyprus, you are eligible to register to vote at all UK elections and do not need to use this form. If you are not already registered to vote you can register at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

The deadline to register to vote in the elections on 23 May is Tuesday 7 May.

Postal votes and Proxy vote arrangements

The deadline to receive new postal vote applications, or to change or cancel an existing postal, proxy or postal proxy vote arrangement is 5pm on Wednesday 8 May.

The deadline to receive new applications to vote by proxy (not postal proxy or emergency proxies) is 5pm on Wednesday 15 May.
