SRCL, the UK’s leading healthcare waste services provider, has taken over clinical waste collections in Hounslow.
Published: Wednesday, 2nd November 2016
Due to the change in contract, collections will begin today (Wednesday 2 November).
Clinical waste collections are provided to those who have a medical condition that results in them producing waste which can be hazardous to anyone coming into contact with it. This includes blood or bodily fluids, swabs or dressings and syringes, needles or other sharp instruments.
Councillor Amrit Mann, deputy leader of Hounslow Council, said: “We understand that this is an important service for those who use it and have tried to minimise disruption as much as possible while the service is transferred from Suez to SRCL.
“I ask that residents affected by this change in provider please bear with us during this period of transition and thank them in advance for their patience and understanding.”
A small minority of residents may be affected by the service change. Any urgent collections or issues will be dealt with as soon as possible.
Anything urgent can be reported to the council’s customer services team on 020 8583 5555.
