Cllr Katherine Dunne, Cabinet Member for Communities and Workforce, Hounslow Council, said: “Now that the Christmas festivities are over, many people are wondering what to do with their real Christmas trees. We are noticing some trees being dumped on the street or in our parks and open spaces. Please be aware that this is an offence and if caught you will receive a fixed penalty notice of £80.

We have organised a number of ways to make disposing of your real Christmas tree easy, we are collecting from households from 7 January, alternatively, you can take your tree to one of our drop off points at Hanworth Air Park, Hounslow Heath, Redlees Park throughout the whole of January, or take your tree to Space Waye any day from 8am – 4pm.

All trees disposed of through these methods will be chipped and recycled back into the borough”.
