£450,000 funding to support Hounslow's Youth Service

Eleven organisations across the borough will benefit from a share of a transitional fund to support youth services across the borough.

n June this year [2018], the council’s Cabinet members agreed to a transitional fund of £450k to be used to support voluntary and community organisations to prepare for youth service changes.

Voluntary, community organisations and individuals were invited to bid for a share of the one-off funding available over a three year period [2018/19 – 2020/21].

It has been agreed to allocate the funding to the following eleven organisations; Alliance Dance Unit, Hounslow Voluntary Sector Support Services, Hounslow Youth Counselling Service, Hounslow Action Youth, Brentford Football Club Community Sports Trust, Hounslow Physically Handicap and Able Bodies(PHAB), Westplay Play Association, Hogarth Charitable Trust, Alluminae Arts Company, One Eighty Ltd and St Pauls and the Good Shepherd.

Councillor Tom Bruce, Cabinet Member for Education, Children and Youth Services, Hounslow Council said:  “I’m so pleased that this funding has been allocated across various organisations in supporting positive youth activities and services to our young people.

“It’s important we ensure that those most in need receive our support and a service that meets their needs.

“Hounslow Council is committed to maintaining a wide range of activities and facilities for young people to enjoy.”
