Residents and visitors to Hounslow who may use Phoenix Way, the access road by the MOTO Heston Motorway Service Station on the M4, are advised that from Monday 23 July, the route is now being enforced via CCTV. The access road, which has always been prohibited to traffic other than authorised vehicles servicing the service station, has prominent new signage up indicating that the route is restricted and camera enforcement is in place. The council has also arranged for Google to update their traffic directions service to reflect this.
Previous attempts to restrict access at this site with signage and bollards have proven ineffective, and the council has worked with MOTO and the local police to develop the new CCTV-enforced solution.
Members of the public are warned that proceeding to use Phoenix Way as an informal motorway junction will result in penalties of up to £130.
