Statement on Watermans Park, Brentford by Councillor Corinna Smart.

Councillor Corinna Smart, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Leisure, Hounslow Council, said: “Hounslow Council has erected safety fencing alongside part of the boundary to Watermans Park and the River Frontage to ensure that there is no public access to an electricity cable which has been laid on the park surface by boaters, who are moored alongside the park railings without the Council’s consent.
“The safety of park users and the boaters themselves, is the primary concern of the Council and the safety fencing has been erected following a recent expert report which has raised a number of health and safety issues.
“The Council hopes that the fencing can be taken down as and when the supply has been removed.”
