Residents are advised to be aware that Lionel Road South, which runs from the South Circular Road to the M4 and A4, will be partially closed from 5am on Monday 2 July until the end of October, as part of the ongoing construction of the Brentford Community Stadium and first phase of new homes.
Lionel Road South will be closed from its junction with the South Circular Road to the access road to Key Bridge distribution centre, north of the railway bridge. It will be closed to all vehicles but will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists. Bus routes may also be affected, with diversions possible.
The closure will enable utilities to be connected to the site. Brentford Football Club and their development partner EcoWorld London (formerly Be Living Ltd), have co-ordinated the different utility companies to bring in their connections within this timeframe, which includes the quieter months during the school summer holidays, to avoid intermittent disruption over a more extended period and reduce the overall construction timeline.
During the closure a diversion will be in place to direct road users wanting to access the A4 and M4 to do so via Chiswick Roundabout.
Residents and those working in the area are advised to use alternative routes to access the area and walk or cycle wherever possible.
