"There may be some disruption to the council’s waste collection service today, following last night’s fire at the West London Waste Authority’s Transport Avenue facility in Brentford.

"The borough’s refuse and garden waste are tipped at the waste transfer station, but as the site may not be available today, there will be some delays to today’s collections as these materials have to be tipped at alternative sites outside the borough.

"The council’s waste collection service, Recycle 360, has confirmed that they aim to complete their collections today.

“We know that disruptions to the collection schedule will trouble some residents, and we would like to apologise to anybody affected.”

Residents who are due to have their rubbish collected today are asked not to report a missed collection until this evening, as the service may not get around to your street until the late afternoon.
