The deadline for registering to vote or applying to vote by post has now passed.  The deadline for requesting a Proxy vote is 5pm today (Wednesday 25 April).

All registered United Kingdom, European Union and Commonwealth citizens are entitled to vote in the Local Election, as long as they are 18 or over on polling day.

If you are a postal voter, you should have received your postal pack.  Completed postal packs must reach the Returning Officer by 10pm on Thursday 3 May for your vote to be counted.

Poll card and polling stations

If you are due to vote in person at a polling station, your poll card will tell you the address of that polling station, including a map of its location, and confirm the date and time of the poll.

Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm.

You do have to be on the Electoral Register to vote in this election but you do not need to take the poll card with you to the polling station to be able to vote.

The Notice of Poll for every ward, giving details of all the candidates standing for election as well as the polling stations for each ward, is available here.
