Use our toilets

Hounslow Council is helping people locate public toilets across the borough as part of a new initiative.

Working in partnership with DisabledGo - a leading UK provider of access information - the council has provided shops, pubs, petrol and train stations across Hounslow with new, highly visible ‘Use our toilet’ signs to put on display.
The signs make it instantly visible to members of the public that the facilities are available on the premises. To date, 127 locations are involved in the scheme.

In addition, all 127 locations have been presented on an online map accessed via the council’s website at www.hounslow.gov.uk/publictoilets. This ensures that anyone with mobile access to the internet can always find the nearest public toilet, quickly and easily.

The council invites other owners of premises with toilets that could be used by the public to get involved in the initiative. Businesses wishing to join the scheme should contact cts@hounslow.gov.uk

Councillor Amrit Mann, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Environment, Hounslow Council, said: “Budget reductions have meant that the council is having to close six public toilets, but the online information and new signage as part of this initiative will mean that 127 public toilets across Hounslow will be easy to find for anyone who needs one.

By making their toilets obviously available for public use, businesses can perform a valuable service and also draw potential customers to their premises. This is a win-win situation.”
