Funding from Hounslow Council is to ensure an additional one Police Sergeant and nine Constables are in place as part of the drive to ensure the borough is a safe place for residents.

At a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday,12 December, a total of £1,149,000 was committed to ensure the officers are funded for three years until April 2021. This is match-funded by the Metropolitan Police Service.
Councillor Hanif Khan, Cabinet Member for Community Protection and Enforcement, Hounslow Council said; “This new commitment builds on a successful partnership with the police that has seen the council fund one Sergeant and four officers since 2011.
“By working closely with the police, we have already taken action to tackle local drug dealing. The number of young people entering the justice system in the borough has nearly halved, and the number of people reoffending has decreased.
