The very best in business was on show last Thursday [12 October] as the borough celebrated all the winners at the Hounslow Business Awards 2017. Sponsored by Hounslow Council in association with Hounslow Highways, for the fifth year running, the event saw the achievements of local businesses highlighted in a number of different categories, from Entrepreneur of the Year to Best Green Business.
The awards, held at the Hilton London Syon Park Hotel, was attended by businesses who were joined by Councillor Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council, Mayor of Hounslow, Councillor Sue Sampson, Councillor Amrit Mann, Deputy Leader of Hounslow Council and Councillor Theo Dennison, Cabinet Member for Finance and Citizen Engagement.

Russell Finex, which specialises in separation equipment technology scooped the 2017 Business of the Year, while jewellery designer Farah Qureshi won the Green Award.
Best charity was Spark!, while Best Eatery category went to Chiswick’s Jackson & Rye restaurant. Entrepreneur of the Year was awarded to Wasqas Iqbal, Co-Founder of digital marketing firm Vix.
Councillor Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council, said: “Once again, it was fantastic to see some of the very best of businesses we have in our borough. Congratulations to all those who won awards.
“Local business play a tremendously important role right at the heart of our communities across Hounslow, including providing many jobs to residents.
“These awards show the continuing outstanding contributions these organisations make to our business community and the whole borough.
“I would like to thank Stephen Fry, Chief Executive, of the Hounslow Chamber of Commerce for his ongoing support and to all those that help make our vibrant business community what it is.”
A panel of industry and business leaders had the daunting task of picking the finalists and then winners from the large number of nominations.
