The event, which took place at Thornbury Park saw a range of information stalls on Council services, including the Housing service team, along with sport taster sessions, face painting, a food hall, fun fair and live entertainment, led by street dance group Aluminae.

Emergency services were represented by the Hounslow Police and volunteer cadets, plus London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service. Also in attendance were the Army and the Irish Guards.

Councillor Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council opened the event, and was joined by Councillor Hanif Khan, Cabinet Member for Community Protection and Enforcement, Hounslow Council.

Cllr Khan said: “It was a great event and there was something for all ages.

“I know many residents enjoyed looking behind the scenes with the emergency services and it was good example of the community getting together and seeing how the different services work in partnership.

“I would like to thank all those who attended, I hope all those who went along enjoyed themselves. I would also like to thank the emergency services and Council staff who were there on the day.”

The event was organised by Hounslow’s Blue Light services, along with the Council and health and leisure partners.

Philip Morton, Hounslow’s Borough Commander for the London Fire Brigade, said: “It was a fantastic event and really well attended by all members of the local community.

“It was brilliant to see the interaction between emergency services and others working in partnership, adults and children alike. These events really bring the community together and further improve the excellent relationships we already have.

“I’d like to thank our firefighters from local stations as well as other emergency service colleagues and Council staff who worked tirelessly to deliver this event.”
