Roadworks Update - A4 Great West Road

Transport for London has announced road closures along the A4 Great West Road, as part of ongoing essential maintenance work.

Transport for London (TfL) are carrying out essential maintenance work on the Cromwell Road Railway Bridge, which carries the A4 Great West Road over the railway between Hogarth Roundabout and Chiswick Roundabout.

These works will mean sections of the road will face closures.

The works consist of three Phases, and they are scheduled to complete in December 2022.

Phase 1 began in early August 2022 and is now complete. To support ceremonial and commemorative events following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, works on Cromwell Road railway bridge were paused from 16 September after the completion of Phase 1 of the works.

Phase 2 works recommenced on Sunday 25 September as part of this phase.

Eastbound: Two lanes open

Westbound: One lane open (traffic won't be able to join the A4 from Milnthorpe Road)

These working hours have been agreed with between TfL and Hounslow. TfL will make every effort to finish the works on time, although poor weather conditions may mean they need to reschedule at short notice. If driving, please plan in advance and leave more time for your journey.
