Councillor Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council:
“Following the horrific terror attacks in Barcelona and across Catalonia, last night, [Thursday], we would like to express our deepest sympathy on behalf of everyone in the borough, to the family and friends of all those killed and injured.
“We will be flying the flag at the Civic Centre at half-mast today as a mark of respect.
“This is another senseless attack in Europe, but we must all stand together as one community in the face of adversity.
“We encourage all our residents to remain vigilant and calm. Residents can be reassured that the Council will continue to work with the police in doing everything to keep the borough safe.
If you see anything that causes you concern or raises your suspicions, please don’t hesitate to call the Counter Terrorism Policing number: 0800 789 321 - or in an emergency 999.”
