Its safety first in Hounslow this Sunday, with a special family fun event aiming to get the communitys wheels in motion.

Hounslow Council and the Watermans Arts Centre are staging a special road safety event on Sunday, 17 July between noon and 4pm.

There will be plenty going on at Hounslow High Street (between Next and the Halifax), all around the theme of Keeping Hounslow Safe.

Highlights include a two-wheeled turn-out from the Bicycle Ballet with a celebration of the dance that is cycling.

There will be a poster-making workshop with ArtJar and the chance to ride a smoothie bike.

The team from Dr Bike will be on hand to offer free cycle repairs and there will be a family bike ride starting at 1pm.

As well as the bike-themed bonanza, police and community safety officers will be on-hand to discuss crime prevention issues and offer free car seat checks. All the activities are free.

Register for the family bike ride from Hounslow town centre.
