Play on: The new-look playground at Watermans Park.

The transformation is complete and the gates are open wide for everyone to enjoy some fun and sunshine at the new-look Watermans Park.

Over recent months the popular Brentford green space has been given a  makeover.

And if you like plants, pergolas and play areas, it’s definitely the place to head.

The park had to be closed to the public while the redevelopment work took place.

The new features include improved footpaths and cycleways, seating and outdoor communal areas, basketball space, an open-air gym and a yoga area.

To cap it all, there has been extensive tree and shrub planting to make Watermans an even greener space.

Before work began on the project, residents and park users were given the chance to have their say on what they wanted to see more of in the park.

Their views were used to shape the Watermans Park master plan.

The new play area at the park was designed in partnership with young people from the nearby St Paul’s CE Primary School.

The new features will help everyone who visits Watermans make the most of the physical and mental health and wellbeing benefits that being out in the open air can bring.

The park’s new plants, trees and shrubs also contribute to the borough’s climate change ambitions and are helping to make Hounslow a cleaner, greener and healthier place to live, work, study and play.

The new-look Watermans Park is an ideal destination for some fun this weekend.
