To help residents get into the party spirit and celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Hounslow Council is waiving fees for street parties and has made grants of up to £1,000 available.

Communities are being urged to come together to mark the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne during the double bank holiday weekend of Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June.

A range of activities are taking place over the weekend, including the Big Jubilee Lunch on Sunday. The Council itself will be organising an event to coincide with the national beacon lighting celebration on Thursday evening.

More information about the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, hosting a street party and applying for a grant is available by visiting Hounslow Council’s website at   www.hounslow.gov.uk/jubilee

This coming summer marks the start of what promises to be Hounslow’s biggest year of celebrations. As well as the Jubilee, the borough plays host to the Women’s 2022 Euro competition, with a portion of games being played at Brentford Football Club ground.  Alongside this, the borough will take part in celebrating Hounslow’s places, spaces, and the rich diversity of our people through our Summer of Culture celebrations starting in June. These celebrations will fuse together local projects and national events, with music, performances, sport, history, storytelling, park events and much more.
