Businesses are urged to participate in the Council's Business Impact Survey.
Published: Tuesday, 23rd November 2021
Hounslow Business Impact Survey is now live and will help the Council understand the impact of COVID-19 and Brexit on businesses in the borough. This year participation also brings the chance to win a £100 gift card.
The survey aims to help develop a better understanding of the current climate in which the borough’s businesses are operating. It will gather businesses views, investment experiences, confidence and intentions looking forward. This year, the Council is particularly focusing on the current and future impact of the pandemic and Brexit on businesses.
Cllr Shantanu Rajawat, Cabinet Member for Finance and Corporate Services said:
“It’s important that we regularly check in with our businesses and understand the full picture and lived experience. This survey helps us make important decisions in developing the right kind of support needed by businesses in the borough.
“We are so proud of how our businesses responded to the pandemic and lockdown restrictions with immense resilience and flexibility. We want to continue to support them as much as we can within our powers as they move forward.
“I urge as many business owners as possible to complete the survey before the deadline and put themselves in contention for our prize draw as an extra incentive and thank you for taking part.”
The Economic Recovery and Regeneration team provides training, support and information to businesses, and the results of the survey will inform our response to business support both in the immediate and longer term, ensuring we focus resources on issues and opportunities of most interest and benefit to you.
All completed surveys received will be entered into our free prize draw to win a £100 gift card. The deadline to complete the survey is 10 December 2021.
Many businesses took part in the "Business Impact Survey – Coronavirus" which concluded in June 2020. The results provided valuable data, helping develop the One Hounslow Forward Together Borough Recovery Plan and the business and enterprise support delivered over the last year.
In response the Council has been:
- Delivering our High Streets Recovery Action Plan, including #ShopSafeShopLocal and Reopening Safely and Welcome Back campaigns.
- Delivering Innovate & Grow, a wide-ranging mentoring and enterprise and growth programme, providing start up and micro business support as well as tools and techniques to adapt and grow your business.
- Providing support and guidance to businesses via a dedicated team, e-bulletins and webpages, and working closely with our networks and partners.
- Distributing £80m in grants and nearly another £80m in Rates relief to support businesses most impacted by the restrictions brought in throughout the pandemic.
