Hands raised asking a question.

Council’s Recovery Plan, Hounslow Highways and updates on policing are on the agenda

Hounslow House will host the Central Hounslow Area Forum this Thursday 7 October at 7pm after a break of almost 9 months. 35 completely free seats will be available for residents to reserve online so they can use the Forum as an opportunity to really make their voices heard in the Borough once more.

This will also be the first live, in-person Area Forum since February 2020, meaning the platform that ensures residents can open a dialogue with their councillors about the issues that really matter to them is back.

In a move that will make the conversation more accessible to all residents, even if they cannot attend in-person, the session will also be available for playback on the Council’s YouTube channel after the event has ended, with plans to develop livestreaming in the future.

The agenda is available here and will feature topics such as the Council’s Recovery Plan, Hounslow Highways and an update on policing. Twelve of the Borough’s Councillors and guests from across service areas will present the panel. There will also be up to 30 minutes for questions from members of the public at the end as part of an Open Forum.

Cllr Ajmer Grewal, Chair of Central Hounslow Area Forum, said: "After a long break, it’s great to be returning to the Area Forums. This is a great opportunity for Central Hounslow residents to really tune in and take part in the topics of discussion that directly impact their day-to-day lives, and also raise any concerns with us if they have them.

“Forums are also a great opportunity for Councillors to get an idea of what the public are feeling and improve services where they need it. For this reason, I want to make it clear that we are committed to carrying out improvements that will make the Forums as accessible as possible. We really do want to listen to residents, business owners and workers in the area.

“That’s why this meeting will be filmed for residents to watch after the event, and we continue to strive to make improvements to the format that we hope we’ll be able to act on as soon as possible.”

If residents would like to attend or take part in this meeting, please contact the Committee Officer by emailing: william.lee@hounslow.gov.uk

Seats will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis and must be booked to manage numbers due to social distancing measures, 35 places are available. The Area Forum will be held in the main hall, the largest room at Hounslow House. Masks must be worn when moving around the room and the premises.
