Councillor Hanif Khan, Cabinet Member for Transport and One Hounslow, said:
“Hounslow Highways will be carrying out planned road improvement works on Windmill Road over the next six weeks and we have been in regular contact with Ealing Council to prepare for these works and both Council leaders have been keeping one another briefed on matters. To enable the improvements, Swyncombe Avenue will be temporarily closed to traffic heading eastbound from Boston Manor Road.
“Prior to these road works, there has been increased traffic on Swyncombe Avenue which has been a serious concern for our residents. In discussion with Ealing Council, we have raised this problem on behalf of our residents in order to identify a collaborative solution.
“While the decision to close Low Traffic Neighbourhood 21 is a decision for Ealing Council, we will continue to monitor traffic on Swyncombe Avenue to see if the difficulties residents are currently facing are alleviated.
“As we’ve made clear in our own review of Streetspace trials, it’s right to amend or remove trials where they are clearly not working as intended. Proper consultation with residents will lead to the right long-term outcomes for all our residents.”
