Madeeha Asim, the Labour Party candidate for Hounslow Heath ward and Devina Ram the Labour Party candidate for Cranford ward have been elected as councillors in the by-elections.

4,191 people voted in the Hounslow Heath by-election and 4,092 people voted in the Cranford by-election that were held on Thursday 6 May 2021, with the count taking place today, Saturday 8 May 2021 at Olympia.

Niall Bolger, Chief Executive and Returning Officer for Hounslow Council, said:

“Our Elections Team has worked tirelessly to make sure the process of voting has gone smoothly and safely despite the circumstances. I would like to thank them all for their hard work and dedication over the past few months as they worked behind the scenes to ensure our residents felt safe whilst voting.”
