Care home agencies across Hounslow are being given free access to a new App to help them recruit more care worker staff.

In partnership with the Council, Care Friends, is providing the free annual licenses to any local care home agencies, or extra care settings, registered in the borough.
The ‘Refer a Friend’ App is designed to encourage and incentivise existing staff to recommend their friends to join them as care workers.
Staff who ‘refer a friend’ can even earn bonus points that can be converted into cash paid through payroll by the employer.
Cllr Candice Atterton, Cabinet Member for Adults, Social Care and Health, said: “We are delighted to be able to use some of the Government’s Workforce Capacity Fund in this way. This app gives care companies the opportunity to recruit high quality staff at lower cost over the next year.
“In order to kick start your company’s ‘Refer a Friend’ scheme the Council will also be allocating initial funding to contribute towards the costs of operating the scheme.
“Employees will quite often have friends or know of others who would be a good fit within the ethos of the team and work well with the clients, which is why this app is such a great initiative.
“I would encourage any Hounslow care home agencies, Care Homes of Extra Care schemes, to get in touch as soon as possible to make sure you don’t miss out.”

About the App:
- This is an innovative and exciting employee referral app designed to encourage and incentivise care staff to recommend their friends to join them.
- Care staff can earn points for every stage of the recruitment process. The app can also be used as a tool to award bonus points in recognition of hard work or reward going the extra mile.
- The points are converted to cash at the request of the employee and paid through payroll by the employer.
- Care Friends will help agencies with the onboarding and training process.
