Local businesses and those who live and work in the borough are being invited to have their say on exciting town centre plans.
Published: Saturday, 20th February 2021
The first phase of the engagement generated 7,500 visitors to the Council’s commonplace engagement site and over 1,800 individual comments from residents, stakeholders and local businesses, who shared their ideas future of our four town centres:
Following the feedback received, workshops with teams across the Council and advice from its specialist consultants, the draft vision for each town centre has been designed around a number of themes, under which are proposed actions or projects.
The next stage of feedback on these themes and the associated ideas will help shape the final vision documents.
This will help our town centres to evolve, thrive and innovate to meet current and future challenges and to guide future interventions and projects, which is linked to the Council’s plans for economic stabilisation and future growth of the borough.
Cllr Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council, said:
“It’s vital that we engage with local communities and businesses to understand how best we can support our town centres and high streets to ensure we meet the challenges we all face post COVID19. “I’d like to thank all of those residents, businesses and visitors who took part in the first engagement stage and invite the whole community, to take a look at the draft vision documents and have their say. It is only by listening to your views and ideas that we will be able to improve our town centres and high streets to try to ensure they’re at the heart of our communities.”
The engagement launched on 19 February and runs until until 15 March.
