Hounslow Council is set to unveil its new-look website in just under two weeks’ time.

Hounslow Council is set to unveil its new-look website in just under two weeks’ time.

Before the new website is launched, it must go through a rigorous testing process to ensure it is compatible and gets residents directly to where they need to go.

which will explain how the site was tested on different devices such as mobile, iPads and Desktop and how effective it was.

The council needs to make sure that all areas of the website are accessible for all users, including those who may have visual, hearing, mobility, learning difficulties and others less familiar with how to access services online.

Councillor Ed Mayne, Cabinet Member for Corporate Performance and Customer Care, Hounslow Council, said: “This a really exciting project and we want residents and all those who will be logging on to our new website to have an efficient and straightforward experience.

“That’s why we’ve tested everything thoroughly and you can read what this testing involved by reading the latest blog on the website.

“We want to make sure that when our residents go online to access a council service or information that is important to them, they can do this easily and quickly.”

The council is working in partnership with web platform provider Jadu to deliver the new website at the end of January, allowing residents to interact with the council 24/7, more easily and conveniently.

With a huge increase in people trying to access services from a range of devices, the new site will be tailored to allow visitors to access and view information on any mobile or tablet format at any time, at any location.
