Hounslow Council’s new website has been launched and is now even more customer-friendly for all residents.
The Council has been working in partnership with web platform provider Jadu to deliver the new website, allowing residents to access the council’s online services 24/7, more easily and in a way that is most convenient for them.
As well as a new design, a number of changes has been made to make sure the site is easier for residents to use, so that our customers can carry out the most popular tasks that they’ve told the Council they want.
The Council has also undertaken extensive resident engagement: eye tracking sessions, presentations at meetings and forums with residents over the last year, which has been incorporated into the new design.
Website content has been made a lot simpler too with clear buttons for residents to complete transactions where they can apply, report, pay and request at any time on any device.
Applying, reporting and paying for many council services online is far cheaper than doing it face to face or over the phone - so residents will be helping to save money and getting more choice online.
One of the new features on the website is the introduction of a customer portal account. Customers will be able to report a missed bin collection and sign up to the Garden Waste scheme. Improvements to the ‘my account’ feature will continue throughout the year.
Councillor Ed Mayne, Cabinet Member for Corporate Performance and Customer Care, Hounslow Council, said: “We’ll continue to develop and build new functions for residents to use so that the site becomes more and more transactional for them.
“Our aim with this new website is to improve customer services for our residents and enable them to make transactions and find information easily.
“This is a really exciting project and we want our residents and all those who will be logging on to our new website to have an efficient and straightforward experience.”
