Councillor Corinna Smart, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Leisure, Hounslow Council, said: “Following intensive investigation, Carillion, who manage the borough’s libraries on behalf of the Council, have now submitted a robust action plan to make safe and carry out the repair of the ceiling at Brentford Library with a view to it reopening in February.
“Both the Council and Carillion have decided the library will remain temporarily closed until all investigations have been completed and both parties agree it is safe to re-open.
“Carillion and the Council apologise for any inconvenience caused to residents and library users while the library is temporarily closed.
