This fund is aimed at helping the voluntary and community sector (VCSE) deliver long term recovery projects for local residents.

The fund enables charities or community groups impacted by coronavirus to apply for grants of up to £50,000. This is the second phase of the three rounds of funding available. Applications for this round can be made until 9am on Monday 2 November 2020.

Funding is available for projects and services that are delivering support to Hounslow residents most at risk as a result of the outbreak.

Key areas that we are particularly interested in funding are:

  • Domestic abuse and violence
  • Addressing unemployment or underemployment as a result of coronavirus, including support to find employment, develop skills and retrain
  • Projects benefitting London Borough of Hounslow Council tenants and estates
  • Support for residents to re-engage with services, activities and everyday life

Mo Alam, Founder, Film Skool London, said: “The funding we have received through the Thriving Communities: Hounslow Response Fund  has allowed our organisation to continue working with young people and offer our filmmaking course which will inspire young people to be creative and imaginative and be such a vital outlet for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.”

Cllr Katherine Dunne, Cabinet Member for Communities and Climate Emergency, said:  “Over £470,000 of funding has been awarded to 41 projects since the launch of the Thriving Communities: Hounslow Response Fund.  It has been great to see the impact of our funding on local groups and the people they work with.

"As part of our commitment to help the recovery of the borough we launched this fund. Our fantastic voluntary and community groups are a lifeline for many and we are committed to aiding them to help our residents now and in the future.

"We will continue to work together to build back a thriving and resilient community.”

The fund is open to constituted not-for-profit organisations (e.g. registered charity, company limited by guarantee, unincorporated association or club, community interest company. charitable incorporated organisation).

Thriving Communities: Hounslow Response Fund

You should apply for the Recovery fund to invest in delivering services that will enable the long-term recovery of your organisation and your communities from the restrictions imposed by coronavirus.
Having struggled through the months of lockdown our citizens will have to overcome significant challenges during the recovery period, and to support them our voluntary and community groups will need to transform and even reinvent how they deliver their services if they are to support their communities in new ways that will achieve a successful long-term recovery.

For any organisations who have recently received funding from the Thriving Communities: Hounslow Response Fund, you can apply for the recovery phase of the funding as long as it is for a different service/ project.

Information about other funding sources that are available to voluntary and community groups in the borough can be found on the Hounslow Council website.

Organisations who have received Council funding are able to apply for funding from other sources.
