Brentford FC booked a place in the Second Round of the Carabao Cup yesterday with a penalty shoot-out win in their new home.

Hounslow Council has been working with Brentford FC to make its 17,250-seater Brentford Community Stadium on Lionel Road Covid-secure.
After the game, Hounslow Council Leader Steve Curran, said: “It’s great to see the Bees playing in the fantastic new stadium – on TV if not yet in person – and well done to the lads for getting through to the next round of the Carabao Cup.
“It’s been an honour for Hounslow Council to work with the club to make the venue Covid-secure, and we’re delighted to see the results are already paying off. Brentford FC, having recently secured its highest league finish is over 70 years, is going places and the Council is right behind you.”
Brentford FC Chief Executive Jon Varney said: “Our partnership with the London Borough of Hounslow has been very much that, a true partnership. We’ve worked in collaboration with them through all the Covid protocols. We’ve been delighted to join the Hounslow Recovery board and we look forward to working with Cllr Curran and all the team at the Hounslow Council to improve the lives of everybody throughout and after the Covid-19 pandemic."
