Cllr Tom Bruce, Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services at Hounslow Council said:

“The last few months have clearly been challenging for teachers and students alike. The chaos and confusion of the past few days, caused entirely by the government, will have exacerbated the worries and concerns many young people will have had at this important time in their life.

"Despite this, I’m immensely proud of all the young people in Hounslow who have been working towards their A Level and other post 16 qualifications this year, and would like to offer my congratulations for their dedication and efforts. For those who have got what they need for the next stages in their education or careers, I wish you all the best of the future. For those who haven’t, your school and this council are here to support you and despite the challenges we are currently facing, here in Hounslow we remain fully committed to offering the best opportunities and support for all our young people whether they choose to continue in education or are seeking to enter the workplace straightaway”.

For students who have not achieved what they were hoping for or are unsure about what to do next, the Hounslow 14-19 Connexions Team are available to provide free, impartial advice on the range of options available.
