Cllr Katherine Dunne, Cabinet Member for Communities and Climate Emergency, said: “Since the start of this month we have been proudly flying the rainbow flag at Hounslow House in support of Pride.

Today, 27 June, many of us would have been marching in the London Pride parade.  As we can’t gather together on this day as we normally would I would like to praise Hounslow’s incredible LGBT+ communities, who have celebrated Pride from home this year.

These past few months have been challenging for everyone and having a sense of community feels more important than ever. We live in a diverse borough and I would like us to celebrate the impact the LGBT+ have had and continue to have which will influence future generations to inspire an inclusive and equal society.

As a Council we have recently approved the new Equalities Plan which lays out how we intend to improve engagement and representation of all groups to ensure everyone has a voice.”
