There will be no waste, recycling or garden waste collections on Monday 25 May. If your household is due a collection on this day, this will now happen on the following day, Tuesday 26 May and all collections during the week will happen a day later, please see below:

Usual collection day   Revised collection day
Monday 25 May      Tuesday 26 May
Tuesday 26 May Wednesday 27 May
Wednesday 27 May Thursday 28 May
Thursday 28 May Friday 29 May
Friday 29 May Saturday 30 May

Residents living in both flats and flats above shops will also have collection days move to the following day as outlined above.

The waste and recycling service schedule will revert to normal on Monday 1 June 2020.

With many of us still at home, we remind residents to please help crews by minimising their waste by reducing, reusing and recycling all they can. Hounslow Council offers a comprehensive weekly recycling service so take full advantage by disposing of all food waste (where available), paper, cardboard, plastics bottles, plastic tubs pots and trays, glass, tins and cans (aerosols, aluminium foil).

Space Waye re-use and recycling centre will remain open on Monday 25 May. The site reopened last week for essential use only with social distancing measures in place, in line with government guidance. Space Waye has been experiencing long traffic queues and waiting times – so please only visit if storing waste at home could cause injury or illness. Full guidance can be viewed here.

Cllr Guy Lambert, Cabinet Member for Highways, Recycling and Trading Companies at Hounslow Council, said:

“The spring bank holiday waste and recycling service aims to minimise disruption with all collections being caught up a day later including Saturday 30 May.

“Since lockdown in March, waste and recycling volumes increased by around 30 per cent, further testament to the Recycle 360 crews, who have done a great job maintaining the service in challenging circumstances.

“Please avoid doing any clear-outs and DIY in the meantime, it really helps reduce the pressure on waste and recycling services.”
